Each year Cycling UK celebrates inspirational female cyclists who encourage others to find joy in getting on a bike. The latest 100 Women in Cycling List includes Reilly Sales Agent Petra Wiltshire and rightfully so.
It’s safe to say cycling is at her core. During her life as a pro, Petra won three UCI Downhill MTB Masters World Championship jerseys and raced in over 20 UCI World Cups.
Although no longer a professional, she has not stopped racing. Last year alone, she competed in both gravel and road events. The 110km Gralloch where she crossed the line in 3rd place and automatically qualified for UCI Gravel World Championships in Veneto Italy, plus the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in Glasgow in August, to name a few. Much as she likes to race, “I always want to push hard for myself,” she is equally passionate about getting women out on their bikes and runs gravel events from her local bike shop in Somerset. “There is freedom with off-road cycling. I want to bring that sense of adventure to women” she says.
Petra was one of the first to ride the Reilly investment cast, aero road bike Fusion, speeding along the tarmac in Dubai and qualifying for UCI World Champs and more recently competing off-road on her trusty Gradient. With her extensive bike knowledge and first-hand experience of Reilly, she was the perfect fit to become our on-the-road sales agent.
