CARBON FRAME PRODUCTION

At our sister workshop deep inside formula one land in Brackley, near Silverstone we produce the REILLY 600SL carbon frame. We run two Bridgeport milling machines to miter our carbon tubes. Carbon is very tricky to cut accurately and we use very special rotary saws. We also use the full set of tube mitring tools and jigs from Anvil tools in the USA, totally invaluable. Above you can see our Anvil seat stay mitering fixture, attached to one of our Bridgeports. Being custom made only we have a huge array of tubes to choose from and many different BB shells...

Your choices for a British-made carbon frame are limited, but Reilly is aiming to change that Most carbon fibre road frames are manufactured in the Far East, but if you want a British-made carbon frame, well your choices are really limited. There are a few people starting, or trying, to manufacture carbon frames in the UK, and Reilly Cycleworks is one of them.  Pictured is the Reilly 600SL. It boasts a frame weighing a claimed 649g (size small), which certainly puts it in some elite company and will appeal to weight weenies. The company reckons it can go lighter still. ...

Tony's XCR in Italy

Tony's REILLY XCR Gents, keeping with the made in Sussex theme thought I would drop you a few photos from the weekend of three climbs from my www.pedalarmondo.com 50by50 Midlife cycling escapades. The frame was stunning to ride as ever, comfy and responsive I love my XCR, the paint just glinted in the Italian sun and turned even the hyper critical Italian fashionistas, and the new climbing wheels did a wonderful job of being sprung loaded up the hills.  Tony
